Montcharles S Pontes, PhD
Currently, he is a principal investigator at AgrÓptica Instrumentation and Services (AGROPTICA), São Carlos-SP. My research focuses on the study of engineered nanomaterials and their applications in various fields. My expertise lies in evaluating the physicochemical and nanobionic properties of nanomaterials, including luminescent nanomaterials for photosynthesis enhancement and nanocarriers for pesticide delivery in crop plants. I also investigate the potential toxicity and interactions of these nanostructures with specific molecules, protein targets, and organisms. Utilizing a combination of experimental and theoretical tools, I aim to understand the biological behavior of molecules at different levels.
PhD graduate (Natural Resources - Interdiciplinary Environmental Sciences) from Mato Grosso do Sul State University (UEMS) with experience in fabrication of nanostructured materials, optical spectroscopy methods and plant ecophysiology, with broad interests ranging from photosynthesis processes (from organelles to ecosystems) to advanced nanomaterials design and applications.
